You'll find opportunities to sample Hui food on almost every street corner, but for a really special local meal it's worth heading out to Ningxia Yangrou Guan on Jiefang Xi Jie. Closer to the center there are delicious and filling stretched beef noodles (niurou lamian) to be found in the southeast corner of Nan Men Square. If you're in need of a Western fix there's a Dicos hamburger joint on the Western side of the square, and a KFC opposite the post office on Jiefang Xi Jie.
