"Casual Luxury" is what they call it here. As you enter, the lobby sets the tone—comfy sofas in small formations create an immediate atmosphere of calm and familiarity. Unlike its neighbors on the Ringstrasse, this place has no Habsburg decadence. Simple prints adorn the walls and the designer decor is stylishly cozy. Visit the delicious spa for a massage and the seductive view of the Karlskirche from the window of the sweet sauna. The restaurant "at eight" has little to boast for atmosphere but they serve what they call "aroma cuisine," each dish harmoniously underlined with certain aromas and wines. Best of all, the impeccable service adds a personalized touch and the casual theme does not diminish the 5-star quality. It is a welcome and less-expensive alternative to the usual Imperial or Art Deco look.
