An oasis of "rustic elegance," this secluded Creole-style hideaway is terraced across a rocky cliff face overlooking Anse Cochon. Each of the 33 gingerbread cottages has its own balcony (with double hammock), private outdoor garden shower, and splendid sunset views. Handsome fourposter beds are hung with gossamer mosquito netting; ceiling fans circulate cool breezes, although air-conditioning is available for those who prefer it. The individual cottage units (Le Cottage) are the resort's top accommodations; 11 Le Cottage rooms even have their own plunge pool. The least-expensive Ocean View rooms, duplexes in semi-detached cottages, are a little higher up and farther back than Le Cottage rooms but are similar in décor and amenities. The pretty cove and beach (good for snorkeling) lie at the bottom of a 167-step staircase. A new on-site spa with three treatment rooms opened in 2014. Note that children 11 and under are not allowed.
