Don’t laugh, but at this cheeky budget hostel you rent a pod, not a room. Built within a beautiful old shophouse on a historic Chinatown street, Wink caters to a new breed of young-at-heart backpack style travelers referred to as "Flashbackers," those who can afford something more high-end but prefer the camaraderie and communal environment of a hostel. While the accommodations are intentionally skimpy in size, the tech touches aren’t. Goodies include Internet stations, Wi-Fi, and Smartcard access to rooms, lockers, and common areas. Geeks will appreciate Wink’s high-speed fibre-optic Next Generation Network (NGN) Connectivity that supports it all. 

Back to the pods, they’re sound resistant and have adjustable reading lights and a power socket to charge your devices. There’s a side ledge, and a hook and a locker underneath the pod to store your stuff. There are some queen-sized pods for more space, and both co-ed and ladies-only pod dorms (all are air-conditioned). Bathrooms have rain showers and are shared.
