On the Right Bank, this seven-story pride of the Sheraton chain is only a five-minute walk from the old town. While the building is not as old as Salzburg's other five-star establishments, it fits nicely into its 19th-century neighborhood. The façade is topped with a mansard roof, and the casement windows have Jugendstil trim. As you enter, the lobby opens to reveal sun-flooded views of the garden. Upstairs, classic rooms retain thick wall-to-wall carpeting and cozy beds with built-in headboards. Deluxe suites have private balconies and, after 2013 renovations, deliciously warm hardwood floors and elegant Art Deco furniture. They also boast new bathrooms with rain showers (some have tubs). Rooms either look out over Mirabell Park or have a fantastic view of the old town. The exclusive penthouse suite has a spacious rooftop terrace and a luxurious bathroom fitted with a television and fitness bike. The Restaurant Mirabell faces the gardens through floor-to-ceiling windows and serves a very tasty Sunday brunch. A less formal dining area, the Bistro, offers Austrian favorites in addition to wine and beer. A piano bar is outfitted with burnished brass, and boasts a vast terrace along the gardens. On the top floor you'll find the club lounge, which has a beautiful terrace, a snack bar, and a scrumptious continental breakfast.
