Named after the falcon now found only in the Central Otago region, Peregrine is a relatively new player on the scene. Success has come early, though, and its 1998 sauvignon blanc won New Zealand, Australian, and United Kingdom trophies. The opening of its new architecturally designed restaurant complex, with a distinctive curved wing-shaped roof, has cemented it as one of the classiest wineries to visit. They produce good pinot noir, pinot gris, Riesling, sauvignon blanc, chardonnay, and rosé.
