This utterly simple, utterly perfect little bare-bones eatery is where Dominicans go in the touristy Bavaro beach area for ice cold beer and genuine Dominican food and take-out. The crispy fried chicken with rice and beans and a salad is a staple (and a steal at just 175 pesos/US$4 for the whole thing, sides included). Otherwise, the menu changes daily to feature such local traditional dishes as San Cocho (a hearty, stew-like soup with lots of meat and veggies).
