For more than 80 years, this resort has been the favored Phoenix address of celebrities, politicians, and old money. The architect was Albert Chase McArthur, with an assist from Frank Lloyd Wright, whose influence across this striking expanse is plain. It has a lot of history—presidents have been staying here since the 1940s—and swellegance; a breathtaking lobby, wide, hushed hallways, serene outdoor walkways, etc. There are two golf courses, a swanky spa, an extravagant pool complete with an ornate waterfall and slide for kids, great food available everywhere you turn, and high-end shops. You’re just a mile from the Biltmore Fashion Park mall, with lots of shops and additional restaurants.
