Among all the high-ticket designers whose shops line Madison Avenue, Ralph Lauren deserves special mention for the stunning beauty of his flagship store, housed in a landmark Rhinelander mansion. One of New York's first important free-standing American designer shops, it has continued to wear as well as the classics Ralph churns out.
