Featured in films by Woody Allen, this is New York’s most famous grocery/deli, an iconic New York emporium, but one that has—to my mind—declined a bit in recent years. I wouldn’t make a special visit to see it, but if you’re in the neighborhood, stop by for a bit of lox or the famed lobster salad. More interesting nowadays are the competitively priced housewares and cookware on the second floor.
