More of a bookstore than your typical museum shop, the Lower East Side Tenement shop sells every important title on American immigration published, from histories of the Jewish Lower East Side to tomes on Italian, Irish, German and Chinese immigration. The store also features a nifty selection of NYC-themed souvenirs and postcards. In a small theater at the back of the store, several excellent films about the history of the neighborhood run on continuous loop. You don't have to pay museum entrance to see them.
