Toddler paradise! Kids ages 8 and under will adore this humungous 10,000-square-foot new store-cum-playspace, which is (mostly) hidden by a swinging bookcase/door. Behind that lies a “magic forest”, a cute “camp bunkroom” and a disco-themed space, connected to the bunk with a tube slide. All around are play tables with blocks, trains and other toys; in the back, staffers teach arts and craft sessions (those for a fee), lead sing-alongs, and demonstrate products, like edible “soap bubbles”. On sale are non-electric toys and kid’s clothing. This newish store, created by Buzzfeed’s chief of commerce, is the flagship for a mini-chain. A really smart, deliriously fun exercise in interactive commerce.
