This divey, former locals-only hangout has long since been discovered by tourists, too, which may mean a sometimes unjustifiably long wait: It’s good, but not OMG! awesome. Except for the well-known rabbit-and-sausage jambalaya, and the fried chicken, both of which really are pretty awesome. Decent food, friendly prices, late hours, and a menu that covers all the bases make this a good fallback if the line isn’t crazy prohibitive. No kids; it's 21 and older only.
