Clean, safe, friendly and centrally located near the main train station, Wombat’s is by far the best hostel in Munich. That’s partially thanks to the relaxed but professional staff, who keep the maintenance standards high. We also laud the Wombat for offering a tad more style than most hostels. The glass-roofed, plant-filled central atrium with its hammock and brightly colored modern furniture is a nice spot for hanging out, as is the bar, which sells inexpensive drinks and food. There are bathrooms with toilets and showers in the 6-bed dorm rooms and double rooms. As in all hostels, rooms are stripped down to the essentials, but the minimalist look is warmed by polished wood floors, wood-framed beds, wooden tables, and storage areas painted with bright, lively colors. There are no curfews at Wombat’s and the front desk is open 24/7. You’d be hard-pressed to find better value in this central a location.
