Located a stone’s throw from Marienplatz, this boutique hotel is a pleasant and super-convenient spot to park your bags in Munich’s Altstadt. In fact, its that location that’s the deciding factor for most guests. But there are other perks here, including suites with kitchenettes and little balconies in a building adjacent to the hotel (these are the Cortiina’s most homelike accommodations). The standard double rooms are a bit on the drab side for a so-called “design hotel,” but they’re comfortable nonetheless, with swank, oversized bathrooms (with eco-friendly REN bath products and, in many, soothing soaking tubs). The hotel caters to many longer-stay business travelers, who appreciate the kitchenette units. The Café/Bar (a modern, minimalist café during the day which morphs to a bar at night) is a popular spot with both visitors and locals.
