6km (4 miles) R of Amalfi on SS 163
Maiori opens onto one of the largest -- and, consequently most developed -- beaches of the whole Costiera. The area is popular among Italians as a seaside resort, but few foreign tourists come this way. While it might lack the unique charm of Positano and Ravello, Maiori enjoys the same beautiful sea and its own distinctive character.
