Fisherman's Wharf was built as an entertainment and shopping destination but has long been overshadowed by glitzier developments in nearby NAPE. On the plus side, diminished foot traffic, not to mention a prime location on a promontory surrounded by water, makes this Victorian-style boutique hotel seem like a low-key getaway. The hotel takes advantage of its views with a rooftop lounge, a restaurant complete with outdoor terrace that specializes in seafood and Australian beef, and rooms with balconies. Period furnishings throughout, including claw-foot tubs in the rooms and a fireplace in the lobby, complete the fantasy. Although rooms have free Internet connection via cable, you have to go to the lobby for free Wi-Fi access. It's just a 10-minute walk from the Macau Ferry Terminal, making it convenient for 1-night stays. And with no casino of it own, it doesn't attract crowds but is nonetheless close to all the action.
