Frommer's Review
Fine dining arrived in Escalante with Hungarian chef Imi
Kun, who opened this upscale restaurant in 1996. Located in an
elegant log cabin behind the Prospector Inn, the dining room
has a high raftered ceiling and is decorated with photos and
prints of American Indians and the western United States. Lunch
choices include American basics such as fried chicken-breast
strips, Cajun turkey, and barbecue beef sandwiches, while the
European side of the menu offers Hungarian chicken paprikash,
seafood linguini, and Wiener schnitzel. At dinner, there's
soup, including double consommé with vegetables, and
entrees such as stroganoff fricassee-a top sirloin fricassee
with mushrooms, pickles, and mustard in a sour cream sauce. No
alcohol is served.
