Entered through a discreet arched doorway in the wall close to Ploče Gate, with tables on a terrace high up in the ramparts affording romantic views down onto the old harbor, this is a stylish and unashamedly see-and-be-seen venue. (Beyoncé was spotted here in 2009, when it was known as Gil’s). Italian chef Alessandro Martellini works in the open-plan kitchen, turning out fancy dishes like marinated fresh tuna with avocado guacamole, soy sauce, ginger, and sesame, which might be followed by a slow-cooked shoulder of lamb with spinach and red paprika. Reservations are required.
