This fairly large complex from the French Novotel chain, set within a 16th-century colonial building, won't knock your socks off, but it won't let you down, either. The location isn't right on the plaza, but the few blocks' walk isn’t at a steep incline. The rooms are fairly standard and what you might expect from a big international chain. The 16 superior rooms in the converted colonial section of the hotel maintain an atmosphere found at posher hotels like the Monasterio and are worth the extra cost. In the heated patio is a cozy French restaurant, plus a warm bar with a fireplace.
