Using dioramas, photos, artifacts, and audio displays, this museum presents an informative overview of Chiang Mai’s past, from pre-historic times through today. There’s also a rotating cast of temporary exhibits. You’ll find the museum in a well-preserved, colonial building dating back to 1927, set behind the Three Kings Monument (they were the founders of Chiang Mai) in the heart of the Old City. Tips: School groups can crowd the museum in the mornings but afternoons are normally peaceful; the café is a nice spot to relax and plan your next move.
