Ignore the somewhat odd look—royal blue walls, oddly spaced tables and truly ugly sketches on the walls. The real artistry is taking place in the kitchen. That's thanks to chefs who take Southern classics and upend them, coming up with dishes such as chicken and dumplings with pillowy gnocchi; Carolina shrimp poached in butter; or a biscuit brunch with perfectly smoked bacon and poached eggs sided by a refreshing fennel salad. Brunch is a particularly swell time to visit for the live piano music from the lobby of the adjoining hotel. The restaurant opened in early 2014. Because it's attached to a hotel, it keeps longer hours than most restaurants in the city, making it a good choice to eat early or late.
