Housed in a row of 8 whitewashed houses formerly belonging to the Shoemakers Guild, the Folklore Museum recreates a slice of Bruges from the turn of the 20th century. Displays include a school classroom, a milliner’s workshop, a pharmacy, and a candy store, where sweets are made on the first and third Thursday afternoon of the month. There’s a collection of clay pipes, puppet shows, and a pretty selection of handmade lace as well as the chance to sample a traditional Flemish beer in the De Zwarte Kat (the Black Cat) inn.
