Not only is slick, sociable Frasca one of the best reviewed restaurants in Boulder, it's one of the best-reviewed in the country, landing on all sorts of national lists since its opening in 2004.The fare is inspired by Friuli-Venezia Giulia in northeast Italy, and the name comes from frascas—informal gathering places—there. Naturally, wine is a big thing here—and the restaurant won the 2013 James Beard Award for Outstanding Wine Program. Adjacent and under the same ownership, Pizzeria Locale, 1730 Pearl St; ([tel] 303/442-3003), is more casual, but is equally authentic in its pursuit of the perfect pizza.
