You’d be hard-pressed to accidentally find this place, located as it is on a side street off Route 132, just north of the airport rotary. It’s well worth the hunt, however. Despite the industrial surroundings, stepping into Pain D’Avignon is really like entering a European cafe. It’s very stylish, all blacks and whites, including the photos on the walls. Pain D’Avignon began as a wholesale bread business, and breakfast and lunch both feature their exquisite bread, be it a croissant, bagel, brioche, or baguette. The more extensive dinner menu includes as starters Dennis Bay View Oysters, grilled Spanish octopus, and foie gras with a buttered brioche. As a main course, you might try the dish of the day, perhaps the coq au vin or the steak frites, with house-made fries and watercress salad. Desserts are made in-house.
