You can’t miss this Barbadian cottage on the main road to Holetown, as it is painted a shockingly bright, signature red. The stylish, low-lit London-style bistro inside continues the scarlet theme, picked out in black and Warhol’s Marilyn Monroe prints. Scarlet’s combines Bajan and contemporary nosh and fab cocktails in a trendy bar atmosphere. The dishes are simple but hearty—sort of Caribbean/International pub grub—featuring hamburgers, manicotti, Thai beef salad, linguine with basil pesto chicken, and fish pie (local catch mixed with white wine and herbs and topped with mashed potatoes). Or you can get away with nibbles and gourmet bar snacks: cajun and panko-crusted chicken strips, veggie spring rolls, fried calamari, or Bajan Welsh rarebit (with spicy sauce).
