Set out on a point in the Inner Harbor, Pier 5 is a little different from other area hotels. The style is charmingly offbeat with its funky red, purple, and yellow color scheme that carries from the lobby to the guest rooms. You are practically guaranteed a water view and those will be through oversized windows or better yet, a tiny sliver of a balcony to take in all that scenery. Rooms are a good size with blond furniture, and even a bookcase that houses the flatscreen TV. Rooms vary greatly according to location in the building. You might get a cathedral ceiling or a balcony or an extra few square feet of space. But the furniture and the bathrooms are the same throughout. All the rooms received new bedding and carpets in early 2014. The hotel is also home to McCormick & Schmick's seafood restaurant and Ruth's Chris Steak House. Evening activities, a nice assortment of hotel packages, and shuttle bus are among the extras offered by the Harbor Magic group that manages the property.
