A Wyndham property, Hotel Revival continues to maintain the old-fashioned style that has made it a favorite since the 1930s. You can expect tufted upholstery and heavy draperies in warm colors and creamy tones with furniture that recalls the elegance of an old 1930s movie. But that doesn't mean it doesn’t update its offerings: pull-out sofas were added to king rooms in 2013. Because the building was originally an apartment building, rooms vary a little but are a pretty good size at about 300 square feet. There are four different room types—king, one queen, two doubles, suite—but all of them have heated towel racks in the marble baths and wet bars with refrigerator. If you want a view of the Washington Monument, ask for a room on the sixth floor or higher. King rooms all face the monument and its surrounding park. Views from the other side of the building are unremarkable. The Mount Vernon hotel is convenient to Baltimore's cultural attractions and a short walk to the Inner Harbor, about 20 minutes. The on-site restaurant George's serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner—and does it well. The hotel fills up on weekends; mid-week travelers get a break on rates. Small dogs are welcome here.
