An Athenian favorite since 1923, Filippou almost never disappoints. The traditional dishes such as stuffed cabbage, stuffed vine leaves, vegetable stews, and fresh salads are consistently good. In the heart of Kolonaki, this is a place to go for quality home cooking in the company of the Greeks and resident expatriates who prize the food. The setting is not why you come: The simple dining room is a few steps down from street level, there are only a few prints on the walls, the tables are plain squares with white tablecloths. I have come here for years and I always find that eating here brings back good memories. It only accepts cash.
