Here's a place with 46 basic self-contained apartments with kitchenettes in a handy location a short walk from the Acropolis. The Ava offers economical convenience for anyone planning a stay of a week or more in Athens, and its kitchenettes make it tempting for even a brief stay. Unusually for Greece, the Ava is smoke-free (that is, if everyone plays by the rules, and not everyone does). The executive rooms have Acropolis views and large balconies; the standard rooms have smaller balconies and city views, although that "city view" may include a glimpse of a different ancient monument, Hadrian's Arch. All units are called "suites," although the standard units do not actually have a separate sitting room. The furnishings (polished wood floors, bed-table-chair décor) are perfectly OK, but somewhat tired.
