A little hotel that packs a big punch, this two-star hotel isn’t long on amenities but the rooms are all pristine and welcoming with en-suite baths and rain showers. Bear in mind when booking that the Clemens sits on one of the city’s main thoroughfares so rooms can get quite noisy, although those at the front of the building do have the added pull of cute wrought-iron balconies to perch on. Typically for a small hotel in central Amsterdam, it occupies four floors in a narrow townhouse and there’s simply no place to put an elevator, but the hotel is fantastically located near the Anne Frank Huis and the Westerkerk.
